The Remote Security SuiteThe Remote Security Suite is a personal watchdog for computers and their data. If a computer is lost or stolen, users can log into their web accounts from any computer using just a web browser. They can then activate the Remote Security Suite to do any or all of the following:
Erase Sensitive Data - They can order their computers to erase sensitive files that have been backed up to your Online Backup Service. They can even shred files with military-level DoD 5220.22-M file shredding technology that cannot be reversed. This prevents sensitive data from falling into the wrong hands. Data will not be erased from their Online Backup accounts. So, they can restore it to another computer.
Take Pictures & Record Sound - The Remote Security Suite can activate a computer's built-in camera and microphone, recording in one minute segments and uploading to the users' Online Backup accounts. This lets them see and hear who is using their computer.
Send Technical Details - The computer will collect and send to the users' Online Backup accounts technical information about its environment, including networks to which it is connected, and other data that might help zero in on who is using the computer and where it might be.
Help Track a Stolen Computer - Using a unique geolocation technology that does not require a GPS in the lost computer, the Remote Security Suite collects and transmits location information. This info can then be looked up in public databases to help isolate the computer's location. (Geolocation services are not exact, and depend on the reliability of the databases and the proximity of wireless access points. This feature may not be usefull outside the USA where access points have not yet been mapped into databases.)
Freeze Normal BackUPMAX Operations - This prevents a computer thief from accessing the Online Backup Agent running on the computer, or the web access for the account.
All the data collected by the computer will be transmitted and stored in the users' Online Backup accounts, accessible with a web browser.
